Children’s Mental Health & Behaviour Specialist
I’m Les Roberts and I specialise in helping children and young people understand and manage the emotions, worries and behaviours that can sometimes make everyday life feel difficult.
Over the years, I’ve supported thousands of children and families through 1:1 therapy, schools, community programmes and professional services. My approach is creative, child-centred and completely individual, because I don’t believe children should have to fit the therapy; the therapy should fit the child.
As an Advanced Practitioner, counsellor, tutor, author and speaker specialising in children’s emotional wellbeing, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to help children feel safe, understood and able to make positive change.
And because children don’t exist in isolation, I work closely with parents too, helping them understand what may be happening beneath the behaviour and how parents can support their child beyond the therapy room.
My aim is simple: to help children understand themselves, feel supported, become empowered and thrive.

Every child is different and so is the support they need. My approach isn't about replacing CAMHS, counselling, CBT or other specialist services.
It's about offering another option. I combine therapeutic approaches including hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT, IEMT, counselling skills, therapeutic storytelling, creative activities and emotional regulation techniques, adapting each session around the individual child.
Importantly, therapy doesn't always have to look or feel like therapy. Children don't have to sit opposite me and explain exactly how they feel.
We might talk, create, play, imagine, tell stories, laugh and learn practical ways to understand what is happening inside their mind and body.
I also work alongside parents, because helping a child doesn't stop when they leave the therapy room.
The aim?
To help children understand their emotions, build confidence and develop skills they can take with them into everyday life.
